Guardian Program

As much as we would love to keep every one of our breeding dogs at home with us, we just cannot. So, we are always looking for kind, dog-loving families who are willing to be guardians for these very special puppies.

Here's how it works: After application, screening, and signing the agreement, the guardian pays a one-time $1,000.00 fee (our regular puppy price is $3,500.00). At nine weeks of age, when all of the puppies go to their forever homes, the future breeder puppy will be placed with the guardian family. As the puppy settles in to their new forever home, Little Creek Labradoodles retains breeding rights and maintains ownership until the dog's breeding window comes to a close. The guardian is responsible for routine veterinary visits and costs. Little Creek Labradoodles pays for the initial set of puppy immunizations, plus testing for their eyes, hips, and elbows. We also pay for a full genetic screening from Paw Print Genetics right here in Spokane.

If our guardian puppies get top scores on all their health testing, they remain intact and enter into our breeding program at the appropriate time. We see the guardian program as a win, win, win. It's great for the dog, the guardian, and the breeder. These dogs (literally the pick of the litter) live with their forever families and come to visit us for breeding and when it's time to deliver a litter of puppies. The puppies are whelped and raised by us and guardian families are encouraged and welcome to visit often.

Guardians are responsible for feeding, training, and loving the puppy while helping him or her to develop into a well-rounded, socialized, well-mannered, adult dog.

Our female dogs will typically have 3-4 litters while they are in the breeding program. So, after they grow up, complete all their testing, and deliver 3-4 litters (about 5 years total), the ladies will be spayed, at the guardian's expense, and full ownership of the dog will be transferred to the guardian. The female dogs in our guardian program should live in the Spokane area, but we will consider placing them further away on a case by case basis. Transporting the girls back and forth to us in Spokane as needed is the responsibility of the guardian family. We will help, or meet you when we can but ultimately delivering the dog when needed is up to the guardian.

Our male dogs will remain in the breeding program for about 6 six years. So, after they grow up, complete all their testing, and perform stud services for a period of time, these dudes will be neutered, at the guardian's expense, and full ownership of the dog will be transferred to the guardian.

The guardian program is really a wonderful and cost effective way to own, raise, and enjoy a fantastic Australian Labradoodle puppy. If this sounds like something that interests you, or you have some questions about the program, please contact us for more information.
